Artist Statement

Rather than obsessing over technical competition, I pay more attention to the healing effect of art. Art is a kind of salvation for me. I use art creation as an outlet for my emotions, allowing me to release my inner emotions. Finally, return to inner peace. The real world has its own laws of operation. We must abide by the law of "survival of the fittest" and passively change ourselves. Therefore, I use art as a medium to express my emotions and thoughts, and use the real-life products created by art to heal the suffering I have suffered in the real world and achieve my spiritual "balance."

Death is an unavoidable topic, but I have to face it. I don't think death means the end of life, but a change in the way of communication. As expressed in the movie "Coco": "Death is not terrible, forgetting is." I believe that any life can last forever in our consciousness, and they will only truly disappear when we no longer mention them. Therefore, by showing how I commemorate my loved ones, I convey that death is not the end of life and encourage the audience to face and accept death.

My work uses fire-shaped sculptures as a carrier, combined with projectors to play moving images, creating an illusion of burning. The sculpture represents the real world and the world in which living people live, while the moving images projected by the projector represent the virtual world, the world that exists in my consciousness. The combination of the two expresses the interconnection and communication between the two worlds, presents a form of existence that transcends reality, and guides the audience to rethink death, memory and the meaning of life.
